Pieces Of Punk

What is Pieces of Punk? P.O.P. are random things, institutions, fashions, local business, and ideologies that help make punk what it is; kind of like putting together a puzzle. The location of all this is based in Southern California because, if you don't already know what happened, we're punk! For almost a decade now i've been going to shows at the Che, and no matter what you might want to think of the place-past or present-it's a legendary venue. Once upon a time, back in 2002, the Locust played one of many shows there. Around this time they played there fairly often and there would always be this one guy who would get completely naked and go crazy in the pit. One time in particular, this dude was full on naked and decided go hang upside down from the rafters in the middle of the pit. The problem is.... he slipped. He slipped right off the beam and landed head first, splitting it open, in the middle of the che. Now not only do you have a naked guy laying in the middle of everyone, but he's ass naked with blood gushing out of his head; my metal head friend slipped and fell in the pool of blood. Another time, when Cattle Decapitation was playing, I brought a fog horn and would blast that thing in between every single song until it ran out of juice. I wish i could type up more stories but there are just way too many to tell. Best thing to do, go there and experience it for yourself because there is always something bound to happen... especially when you're trying to keep young disrespectful punks kids from smoking and drinking inside the place.
